Michael Braam Founder, Aivion Studios

Who I am and what I make.

I'm Michael Braam, born and raised in Arnhem. Since 2005 I've worked as a designer, web designer and web developer. Since 2025 under the name Aivion Studios.

Where it started

My foundation is in graphic design, with studies at Boulevard Heuvelink and the Rijn IJssel College in Arnhem. That's where the love for visual storytelling began, and for turning an idea into something that holds up and sticks.

In 2006 that took shape with my first company: Vision Design: web design, web hosting, print and digital solutions for entrepreneurs. The current Aivion logo still nods to that company.

Twenty years of building

What followed were websites, branding, print, digital content and video editing. As a web developer and designer at the India House Foundation in Arnhem and Amsterdam, with companies of my own such as Daily Media and Nether Lion Studios, and since 2008 as creative director at Business Barons Club India. Since 2022 I also make and host the Podflix podcast, about films, series and games.

At BBCI I do more than the creative work. I'm also the payroll administrator there and handle client invoicing. Sensitive data, tight deadlines, every single month. That financial and administrative practice runs to this day, and keeps me sharp on what actually matters in software: reliability, structure and continuity. It's no coincidence my own products sit there either. BankBird and FactBird solve problems I run into myself every month.

And since 2025

A new layer was added on purpose: AI as a creative and technical accelerator. Experience still decides what gets built, AI decides how fast it lands.

What has since come to be called vibe coding fits that exactly: an intuitive way of building where experience, a sense of design, technical knowledge and AI assistance come together. It translates into custom websites, in-house platforms, podcast systems, databases and visual concepts, and since 2026 into products with their own name.

For me the essence stays the same: the idea, the structure and the emotion start with the maker. Technology follows.

Why a game studio came along.

Since September 2026 the studio has a games arm: MiniScape Games. Two games are ready for release, and the plan behind them reaches further than those two.

Why it exists

I have been a gamer for as long as I can remember, and for just as long I wanted to make games myself. What always stopped me was the distance between having an idea and having something that actually runs. With ChatGPT and Claude Code alongside me, that distance got short enough to simply start.

The games are not original, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. They usually begin with something I played once and liked. Along the way they are made my own, and in the end there is more in them than what I started with.

What is on the bench

The first two are Android games: small, simple, made for the odd ten minutes. Wind down with Shift, or wind yourself right up with Midnight Dash. A few more will follow, partly to get to know this craft properly, partly because they can be good games.

Both stay free, with no ads, in-app purchases or tracking. There is no account in them and not a single network request, so everything you play stays on your own phone.

Where it is heading

What it works towards is a game of my own, for PC and tablet, announced later this year. Everything before it is a step in that direction. These Android games are no sideshow because of it: they are a pleasure to build, and the interesting part is taking them further. Bigger, better, more in them.

They will not be for everyone, and I know that. Doing my best, learning, and getting the most out of it in a short space of time.

How I work.

Four principles under every project. Grown out of twenty years of work.

How I work with AI →
N° 01 · Method

Idea first.

The idea, the structure and the emotion start with the maker. Technology follows, and delivers it faster.

N° 02 · Approach

Vibe Coding.

Intuitive development with AI alongside. Twenty years of designing decides what gets built, the model brings the pace.

N° 03 · Working method

Focus.

One point of contact from briefing to delivery. What you discuss ends up in the build, because it's the same person.

N° 04 · Attitude

Directness.

You know where the project stands, also when it goes badly. No surprises at delivery.

AI & tools.

The models and software the work gets made in. Eleven of them, each with its own job.

From design to own products.

Twenty years of designing and running businesses, and how that led to products of my own.

  1. 2005

    Starting as a designer.

Trained in graphic design at Boulevard Heuvelink and the Rijn IJssel College. That's where the love for visual storytelling and for turning ideas into recognisable communication began.

  2. 2006

    Vision Design.

First company of my own: web design, web hosting, print and digital solutions for entrepreneurs. The current Aivion logo still nods to that company.

  3. 2008

    Business Barons Club India.

Creative director at BBCI, and alongside that payroll administrator and responsible for client invoicing. Close to twenty years, and still running: the financial and administrative practice that products like BankBird and FactBird come out of.

  4. 2011

    India House Foundation.

Three years as web developer and designer in Arnhem and Amsterdam. From design to working sites, in an environment with real users and real deadlines.

  5. 2019

    Daily Media.

A media company of my own around content, video and editorial, alongside Nether Lion Studios. Where making the image and the story met building it.

  6. 2022

    Podflix.

Built the podcast platform and stepped up to the microphone myself: episodes about films, series and games. Tech, editorial and hosting in one project.

  7. 2025

    Aivion Studios.

AI joins as a creative and technical accelerator. Experience decides what gets built, the model decides how fast it lands.

  8. 2026

    Own products.

BankBird goes live, with FactBird, ClockBird, CarteBird and NestBird in development. From client work to products with their own name and their own roadmap.
