BankBirdFinally, a grip on your money.

BankBird shows where your money goes. You import your bank statements, AI puts your transactions in the right category, and your data stays on your own server. Free, open source, and the first Bird to go live.

The story

Made from experience.

BankBird started with a simple question: where does my money actually go? Almost everything is paid digitally, and a banking app with hundreds of transactions does not show you that. Existing tools were either too heavy, being made for businesses, or too shallow. So I built BankBird, and it turned out too good to keep to myself.

Version 1 went live on 6 May 2026, and four days later a major new version was already online. BankBird is a Laravel app with Filament as its admin panel, made to run on your own server. No outside service is needed, except an AI connection if you want the smart categorisation.

BankBird is the first of five Birds: small products that each do one thing well. FactBird, ClockBird, CarteBird and NestBird follow, on the same foundation. What gets solved in one product ends up in the others as well.

What it does

  • Import your bank statements and keep them in one place
  • AI categorises your transactions automatically
  • Installed via Claude or Codex, up and running in five minutes
