Shift is out on Google Play: MiniScape's first game has shipped
On 11 September 2026 Shift went live on Google Play. A calm turning puzzle, free, with no ads and fully offline, and the first MiniScape game you can actually install.

Shift is on Google Play. On 11 September 2026 the game went live as version 0.2.5, which makes it the first thing MiniScape Games has released that you can actually install. Free, with no ads, no account, and it works fully offline.
What you get. A calm puzzle about floating islands. Each island carries a piece of road: you tap to turn it, line the pieces up and bring a small robot from start to flag. Need fewer turns than par and you earn three flags. The levels never run out, because every board is generated and checked by a solver before you see it. Every few levels the world moves on to the next time of day: day, dusk, night, dawn. Three hints per level, no timer, no lives.
What it does not do. No ads, no in-app purchases, no login and no analytics. Your progress stays on your own phone. Shift comes in Dutch and English, with the switch right on the title screen, and it is the same download on phone and tablet.
The last stretch. Releasing a game turns out to be largely about everything around the game: the store listing, the icon at 48 pixels, screenshots in two languages, a privacy statement that holds up. This is the first time I took all of that from start to finish, and that is exactly what this first release was for.
What I would ask of you. Download it, play a few levels and say what you think in the Play Store. A review, even a short one, does more for a small game than anything I can put on a website. Midnight Dash and LOOP, the third game, go through the same stretch next.
The full story, with screenshots, is in the launch post on miniscapegames.com.
