Making things about films, series and games takes good data: titles, years, seasons and platforms. MSGDB is where that information sits centrally, with a structure of its own and a search built on top of it.
MSGDB is not a product to buy or use: it is an in-house tool. You do see it at work, though: MyCollectory lists MSGDB as a source of its catalogue, next to TMDB and IGDB.
That is why it is listed here, in the Community division, next to MyCollectory and Podflix, which cover the same subjects: films, series and games.
